Capitol Skyline Hotel

The Capitol Skyline Hotel was formerly a Best Western on Capitol Hill destined for demolition. The Rubell family swooped in and bought it. Here is a recent photo, appropriately "aged" to reflect the 1960's era retro decor that was used in the newly renovated hotel. It is now an excellent hideaway from the Washington DC heat.

Old time soda fountain counter, Olive Hill, KY

The future, with its big box stores and chain store strip malls, has yet to arrive in many small towns. Here in Olive Hill, KY, a pharmacy/video store still maintains a lunch counter with a soda fountain. Small towns all over the country are eschewing the big business of city life in favor of simpler times.
